The maritime influence at the UBC Botanical Garden creates the ideal conditions for growing maples. Among the most beautiful and interesting groups of maples, is Section Macrantha, the snake bark maples, named for the striped paterns of their bark. The various types of snake bark maples growing at UBCBG are described.
